I'm sure you're terribly busy as always but I just wanted to say it was beyond nift to get a chance to catch up last night. You look like you're so happy with your life--and it's easy to see why. Ned's such a gentleman and the way your career is going, and all, it's like you've got everything anyone could want. No one could deserve it more.

It really was like a parade of our old schoolmates, wasn't it? Did you happen to see Rohani and Goshal? I spoke to them for all of about five minutes but they're both dead jealous of your wedding (still). Tamblyn's just as amusing as ever, isn't he? He and Cox had me in stitches, tearing apart everyone's robes and all those dusty old witches' frowning whenever the band played something written since 1962. When the King of Misrule told Madam Millingham-Kennilworthy to start a conga line? I've never seen quite that shade of red. Have you?

And I figured out who I expected to see and didn't: Weasley and Clearwater. Of course, I'd wondered whether they'd come anyway so soon after his dad, but given that the other Weasleys were honoured by the Repopulation programme I figured they must be coming. Yet not a sign. I suppose they decided they'd better stay in and save their sickles for a rainy day!

Anyway. It was so good to see you, and see you looking smashing, as always.

Your Friend,

Padma

We just got back from ice skating this afternoon and I saw that Longbum had written to you.

Are you all right, then? I mean, it's been a week so...does that mean everything's okay now?

Will you be at the gala tonight? Mum said Pav and I could go. We're about to start getting ready. Then there's Diggory's Quidditch get-together next week and whenever Daphs decides we should all meet up about the revue. But what about New Year's Eve? There's a big party along the Thames and we were going to go out for a while, and find a good spot for the Lord Protector's speech (that's assuming He gives one this time! Which if you're all right, that means that Ireland's taken care of, right, so there shouldn't be any problems this time round).

Maybe we could get together, some other time? I've just been worried about you and it'd be great to make sure you're okay.

Love,

Padma

This was the best holiday yet, even with the news about so many people getting arrested. (And really, I hope the Minsitry does something if they learn that they all lied about the muggles getting sick.) First there was Draco's party (without Draco, but still) and then we saw Lav a couple times and then the St Mungo's gala most of all. Even if we did leave early.

It's sort of hard to believe that we're back. Li and Brocklehurst and a few others came back on Friday, so they were already here when we arrived. Of course, Fawcett didn't leave at all. Li and Brocklehurst said that they thought it was rich, Mr Selwyn saying they could come back early, when the monster has been attacking halfbloods here. But I feel a lot better knowing that the Lord Protector doesn't think there's any danger here to those loyal to Him. And I'm sure Professor Lockhart will find out who's petrifying people really soon. He told a whole bunch of witches that he'd catch the culprit, at the gala. So I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. At least, anyone who isn't an enemy of the Heir, that is.

It's also good to be back at school for the food. I mean, it's not the type of food we usually eat, but it's mostly good and there's a lot more options for pudding than at home. Of course, it's silly but I'm really tired from being on the train. Lav and Belinda and I went through the special colour section of the Prophet with all the pictures from the St Mungo's gala. I was even in the background in a couple photographs!

So. Are we still on for History Club on Wednesday?
