How is your leg?

Haruman was right there to help heal my arm, only we decided to leave the scar since it will help make me look more fierce. It's not on my face, after all!

But it wouldn't have happened at all if we'd known ahead of time that we'd be doing anything like that! That's the trouble with this sort of thing, I think: I was wearing entirely the wrong outfit. At least I thought to put an anti-blistering spell on my shoes, but they weren't meant for anything like fighting a...a zombie!

(Where did they all come from, anyway? I mean, we're not going to have a problem with villages getting overrun by the walking undead, are we--not when we still have traitors running round the country, too?)

Our Lord's message, though. At the end. What did you--well, nevermind. If you're able to have visitors, I'll come over and we can tell war stories about our not-so-glorious battles.

And then I can tell you something else I found out.

I know it's my turn soon but I just had to say that Irish muggle never had a chance against you. I'm sure you've done Mr Rosier proud. And Our Lord, I hope!

Seamus!

Were you summoned to Court this afternoon? I was! It must mean that they've made their recommendations for the Council, mustn't it? Do you think everyone's been summoned or just the top few?

I've been getting ready all day. I imagine it's less of a bother for you, being a boy and all, and besides I'm sure you've been to Court loads of times but I haven't been and I just want to present myself really well, you know?

But I'm also really nervous. I mean, just being summoned doesn't necessarily mean anything, does it? It could easily be all the challengers and they're going to thank us for our dedication and ask us to stay and watch whomever gets chosen take the Mark. Or it could be the top five, maybe, and then Our Lord will make His choice out of everyone who's got this far.

So I don't want to get too hopeful about it.

It's really exciting, though. Oh, please tell me you were also invited! I'll be ever so relieved if we're both going.

Oh, but you might be getting ready, too, I guess, so if I don't hear from you I'll just hope to see you there! (And if you weren't...well, it's not fair if you weren't but I'll tell you all about it later.)

Have you decided yet? Rama, Linus's is a right pain in the arse. But it was pretty funny to watch Lucas O'Leary try to walk through without wishing long life to the Lord Protector, and then practically crawl on his belly between the door and the circulation desk.

I just hope they don't think it's too similar to what I'm planning. But I don't think Lines' shows his loyalty, so much as it tests everyone else's. So probably it'll be all right.

Anyway, Seamus sent his off to his sponsor to look at before he finished it up, and I know Lares plans to unveil his in the morning. You'd better get a move on if you haven't come up with an idea yet. Not surprising Weasley's done something that required next to no effort.

(And did you see that little clutch of 2nd-year girls following Sam to lunch? I mean, how could you not, they were throwing rose petals and chanting all about her devotion to the Lord Protector. Still, I hardly think that's a 'creation' do you? Nor is Vaisey and Stevens' 'entry'--I mean, honestly, it's not as if they knew about this last term, and it's certainly not like she's going to produce a baby in the next 24 hours. I think that shouldn't qualify if you ask me.)

Lana,

Oh, Lakshmi, what an honour! I've already pinned it on and don't worry, I'll make sure I have it on all the time. Well, except the bath. But on my dressing gown, even then.

I won't let you down. I never dreamed--

Right. Focus. Top third.

I'll make you so proud, you'll see.

On behalf of all the students, our thanks to Professor Vector and all the Professors for their indulgence this week. Many of us are personally affected by the stirring events in Ireland and many others of us wish to stand in support of our friends and schoolmates who have relations across the sea.

Hearing the Minister address the people has, I'm sure, brought us all a measure of comfort. It's certainly bolstering to know that the Council's and MLE's quick actions saved hundreds of lives and avoided countless amounts of damage. As tragic as it was, it could have been worse.

And I know all my mates and I could not be more proud of our own Professors Lestrange and Dolohov, who were there in the thick of things, defending the wizards' way of life.

We'd also like to thank Madam Pomfrey and Madam Umbridge for their sensitive and understanding care for all those students who needed extra reassurance yesterday. As Prefects, we'd also like to remind everyone that we're here to help. If anyone should require an escort to the hospital wing, or someone to talk to, please don't hesitate to seek us out.

As Madam Umbridge so perceptively said, we all have to give our whole selves to the service of Our Lord and strive in all things to bring Him as much honour as the members of His Council have done over the last few days, and in the days to come.

Brocklehurst take advantage of Leap Day and pop the question, or not?

I was reading in Dish! that Mr Cooper's putting up a monument for the games, which I think is well respectful.

And at History Club tonight, we talked all about times when people have had to sacrifice for a greater purpose and how duelling has always been a matter of honour and privilege. I hope it helped give some perspective to people, even though of course, it's terrible to lose friends or family.

I keep thinking about my brother and how he died, and how it wasn't the same sort of thing as Mr Warrington or the others at all. Because he didn't have any way to defend himself and even if it wasn't supposed to happen, I think it's important, what Auror Crouch said about being ready anytime, just in case. And culling the weak, I think that's something to think about, too. Wizards being weak is part of why we let the Muggles push us aside in the old days, and it's because of the Lord Protector's strength that we were able to push back.

I guess He thought we needed a reminder.

And I've been thinking about all our CCF training, last year, and how we've sort of fallen off over the winter. So I'm starting again. Daphne, if you or anyone else wants to join, we're starting with conditioning exercises again this Sunday. Parvati and I will also lead yoga if anyone's interested.

Hydra,

Don't waste your time with firsties. Come and sit with us. Lav, Parvati and I are in the third car. Parvati wants to hear all about tea with the Lord Protector, I bet it's fantastic. And I want to know about your summer holiday. I'd ask Draco but he and Harry are - well, they've got your uncle in their compartment with them.

I guess we surprised you after all.

It was really hard not to say anything about it beforehand. I hope you enjoyed your party. It's still a little odd to go to a grown-up party like that, isn't it?

I didn't see where you'd gone but it was time to go home. I just want to say cheers while it's still your birthday - and thanks to Mr Broome for inviting me and Parvati. It was utterly amazing.

I feel very lucky and privileged to have been included. I hope everyone else appreciated it too.

Not the good kind, anyway. I know everyone's trying to be really supportive, but stop asking, all right?

I mean, thanks to everyone who's been really understanding this week. Bones, MacMillan, Thomas, Li, Capper, Parkinson, Perks - I could keep going but just know that I appreciate everyone who's offered their sympathy.

I'm really glad owls are allowed again, now, because I'm sure Mum and Dad will send one right away to let us know how things are going. Haruman has been managing the journals for the family because he says they're just not up to it. He put up a big long post today just to keep us informed.

First, most important, he said the Lord Protector's office issued a statement this morning about Sanji! They said that He was disheartened to learn of our tragic circumstances and hoped it reached resolution soon. I know He had already met us personally before, last year, you know, when Parvati was chosen for the unicorn hunt, but imagine Him thinking about and caring about what happens to us, personally. It's really awe-inspiring, but it makes me sad that it's because of something like this.

Haruman also said Mum and Dad went in to the WWN to record an, um, an appeal. The Aurors found his lunch sack, it was a special one Mum made, and it had a charm on that kept the cold things cold on one side and the hot things hot, and it'd never spill. Well, they found it and they took it to a Diviner, right away. Saturday, I mean. She said at the time that he was still alive, but scared. They didn't find anything else anywhere nearby, though. They searched the whole park, and all the neighbourhood. People even loaned their mudbloods to the operation, so they could go through the whole area inch by inch.

So they haven't found anything yet to suggest that he's been

Well, they think he's still alive, anyway.

And I guess they've been looking into the man the kids said they saw. There wasn't anything remarkable that they remembered, he was just a man in a plain set of robes. They don't think he's an escaped muggle or mudblood, because they've been interviewing every servant in the area and they all were where they were supposed to be at the time. No one's missing or anything. (So Finnigan, I don't think it has anything to do with Irish terrorists, which is good news!)

But the problem is that if another wizard took him, then he probably Apparated away or used a Portkey, and the Aurors say that's mostly impossible to track. The only way to find out where he is is if someone issues a ransom demand. But they're still not at all sure why anyone would do that in the first place, or why they'd pick Sanji.

I've been thinking about it since I read Haruman's post. I think, if no one's asking for a ransom, that it must have been a wizard or witch who doesn't have children, or who only had Squibs, or something, and wants a child of his own. Like the Raja in the story, who prayed and prayed to Sivitri for a child. Only in this case, he didn't wait.

So. I guess I just want to say to that person, that I'm really sorry if you don't have your own children, but please give Sanji back. He's really not all that good. He whinges and he'll just annoy you, so you might as well bring him home. Plus, he's our brother. And even though he's a pain, we love him and we had him first. So give him back. Please?
