to wake up Crabbe? Or was he still snoring away at the end of the exam period?

Though to be honest I could do with a nap myself after that last essay. Whose idea was it to put History after lunch? Ugh.

Only, now I have the most horrible feeling that I mixed up something this morning. What did anyone else put down for question five (Levitation Charms)? I can't remember if I said a left-turning wand flick or a sharp right twist and tug motion (which is obviously the right answer, I mean, if I put down A then I must not have had enough tea before the exam). At least I've no doubt that it wasn't D (who would ever have chosen a down-pointing stab to levitate?)!

incredible!

Davies asked me to go to Hogsmeade with him!

And I was right, loads of people are already lining up to ask one another about the ball.

Oh, but I've also got loads of homework to do over the weekend. Is anyone else really torn about their Charms essay? I can't decide between theories behind Warming charms or the charms to change objects' size (like making a bag bigger on its inside). But if everyone's doing the one, I don't want to do that, too.

Still. I suppose I can worry about that Sunday.

It was snitch of you to have the bunch of us over yesterday. Thank Mr Rosier again, will you?

I do wish the Hogwarts crew had been able to come as well. You would have liked the game we played, Malfoy especially, I think. Hooper brought it. It's called Illusionary. Have you heard of it? Well, you divide into teams and there's a stack of cards with words on, like 'muggle camp' and 'transfiguration' and 'London' and 'snake' and all sorts of things. And there are some props you can use, but you don't have to use them if you don't want to do. Well, each person on your team takes it in turns being the one to get the others to guess what your word is. But you have to make an illusion that illustrates your word to get them to guess, and you can't talk, of course. It was great fun. Thomas was the best at sketching the illusions in the air, of course, but Page was really good at making the props into whatever he wanted.

Well, anyway, then Thomas wanted to go skating, so we did that before tea, which was really not tea at all, but chocolate! But the game had been so much fun that we kept casting spells out on Mr Rosier's duck pond. Oh, and Hooper taught us this completely nift charm he knew, to make illusions and shapes and such out of his breath when it fogged up in the air. He must have pracised forever to be able to do things like that unicorn he made for Parvati. We all tried, but it's difficult to make the shapes quickly enough. I think Lav was getting the hang of it, though!

I think Page really enjoyed getting to speak with Mr Rosier in the library while we were off touring the house again. I know I've been before but we've still not seen the whole place! It just keeps going. I can't believe you said it's smaller than your family's main castle in Ireland, though, Finnigan. I dunno what I'd do with so many rooms! But I knew we'd lose Page in the library. It's quite my favourite room of Mr Rosier's, too. I know it's not quite as large as Hogwarts' library but then, Mr Rosier doesn't need multiple copies of things or quite so many books that no one ever wants to read, does he? It was really kind of him to loan Page that copy of Command of Thought, as well. I'm sure it'll be really helpful for his Dark Arts unit on Curses.

Mr Rosier was right about getting to know some of the others better. I never knew Robins was so witty! Or that Cuthbert and Page would bore us all with broom care as Quidditch strategy, ha-ha! It was loads of fun and now it won't seem like so long before we're all on the train back to school.

except for Astronomy.

Remember, History Club begins tonight! Parkinson and I have been working on a project that I think everyone will find really interesting. We've been looking at the history of the regulation of time travel. I think, given how well this has worked out, we might ask if others don't want to research other laws, like how Animagi came to be, or the history of Parseltongue or things like that.

Anyway, so far, I like Dark Arts and Arithmancy best of the new lessons, and Potions, Defence and Transfiguration are still at the top of the regular ones. I mean, I like Charms too, and Astronomy is okay but I like the night-time part better than the lectures (and that'll be tonight).

And Ravenclaw Corner is still nift, I mean, with Sandoval and the Bobolises and the Dameses and all. Oh, and Sandoval, I don't know if your brother told you but there are a few others who've started coming by more often. Davies, for example, and Cox. And there are some newer ones, like Gray and Martinez. But mostly it's the same chums from last year. Dunstan may start coming with me sometimes, and Moon, but only when Karoline isn't there to tease him. I guess that's the bad thing about having an older sister or brother at school with one!

and its really gone to his head. The OWL students were really horrible this weekend. They stayed in the Common Room all night and kept sending us first-years to fetch them things. Finally Fawcett said she was done running there errants for them and from now on they could go to the library themselves. And Green said 'quite right' but no one else agreed with her and they all started arguing about it.

Then Bobolis came down with his new Prefect badge all polished up and told us off for starting fights, which we didnt and anyway it was Fawcett started anything. The rest of us hadnt done any thing at all. But he said we were disturbing the fifth-years trying to revise, when we were just doing our own homework. We do have homework, still.

Also, he hexed Fawcett with a really amazing silencing charm to 'make an example' of her. I mean, it would of been amazing if he hadnt been so shirty to the rest of us. It actually made her lips fuse together for a few minutes until his sister (she's a prefect, to) took the hex off for her.

It was rather a nifty charm, tho, so all the fifth-years wanted to revise even harder because it was a NEWT-level.

Tonight they kicked us out to celebrate getting over the beginning of OWLs and get ready for tomorrow. At this rate none of us will be ready for our own exams!

Monday's just have too many lessons. Especially when we're just back from holiday.

And naturally, today when we've only Defence and I wanted to go outdoors its raining.

Linus and Belinda want to play Exploding Snap, but since we cant go out anyway, I might as well look over my Potions essay again. Now that I've been partnered with Smith (please don't change us round again, Professor!) its ever so much easier to get them made, but talking about them sort of puts me to sleep. (Not Professor Slughorn's lectures, of course! I mean me trying to talk about them.)

Oh, and did anyone copy down the assignment for Charms? I had just gathered up my books so my hands were full when Professor Acton told us. And I thought I wrote it down, but I suppose I got destracted by ... someone. (Lavender, I'll tell you later!)

least of all the Prophet, but I'm not jellous of Parvati!

(Not even when she told me that Professor Lockhart said she looked almost as good as his cover photo from Witch Weekly)

I mean, sure, anyone would of wanted to be her Monday. But its okay. I still got a good seat and the marzipan and everything, and I didnt have to have my photo taken over and over. Plus Mum says so many people have been in the shop this week to ask about it that she's putting Parvati's dress into production.

Does anyone know what our Charms homework is? I kept having to sneak peeks at the journal because the reporters keep pestering me.

Oh - and Lavender! I almost forgot! Haruman mentioned a name, a girl's name! Someone from his training programme I think. Hannah or Anna, I couldn't quite hear with all the other people talking in the Great Hall last night. So perhaps he has been dating, after all!

Potions

Everyone's talking about Slytherins' lost points. Well, I'm sorry that Malfoy and Marvolo are in so much trouble, but really, it's good for Ravenclaw since now we're first.

But it probably explains why potions was so weird today. Hopkins was so nervous that every time Professor Slughorn looked at him crosswise he fumbled. I finally made him do the little things again, like grinding up the beetles and washing the pessle out, and he did okay, but it's just so frustrating. We didn't finish again and Hopkins whinged about coming to the classroom tomorrow to redo it because it's Hufflepuff against Gryffindor.

And the potion was blue, besides.

On the other hand, Electra Bobolis told me I could borrow her copy of Charms to Disarm because she said there's a really good spell for putting on beauty spots and if I get good at it it might work to make it look like henna.

Oh - and Megan, meet me and Lavender tomorrow after the match! We've got so much to talk about.

I'm sure I did fine on both, but on Charms, what did everyone else put down for Question Three?

I said 'Biting Hex.'

(And for History of Magic, did anyone else write about the Statute of Secrecy and why it was ultimately wiser to repeal it? Or did everyone write about the Goblin Rebellions for the essay?)

Linus, Morag, and Belinda and I are revising for Transfiguration tonight. I'm not fussed about Herbology, too much, but I have a little trouble with the mouse thing Professor Carrow showed us way back in October.
