How is your leg?

Haruman was right there to help heal my arm, only we decided to leave the scar since it will help make me look more fierce. It's not on my face, after all!

But it wouldn't have happened at all if we'd known ahead of time that we'd be doing anything like that! That's the trouble with this sort of thing, I think: I was wearing entirely the wrong outfit. At least I thought to put an anti-blistering spell on my shoes, but they weren't meant for anything like fighting a...a zombie!

(Where did they all come from, anyway? I mean, we're not going to have a problem with villages getting overrun by the walking undead, are we--not when we still have traitors running round the country, too?)

Our Lord's message, though. At the end. What did you--well, nevermind. If you're able to have visitors, I'll come over and we can tell war stories about our not-so-glorious battles.

And then I can tell you something else I found out.

I know it's my turn soon but I just had to say that Irish muggle never had a chance against you. I'm sure you've done Mr Rosier proud. And Our Lord, I hope!

Brocklehurst take advantage of Leap Day and pop the question, or not?

I was reading in Dish! that Mr Cooper's putting up a monument for the games, which I think is well respectful.

And at History Club tonight, we talked all about times when people have had to sacrifice for a greater purpose and how duelling has always been a matter of honour and privilege. I hope it helped give some perspective to people, even though of course, it's terrible to lose friends or family.

I keep thinking about my brother and how he died, and how it wasn't the same sort of thing as Mr Warrington or the others at all. Because he didn't have any way to defend himself and even if it wasn't supposed to happen, I think it's important, what Auror Crouch said about being ready anytime, just in case. And culling the weak, I think that's something to think about, too. Wizards being weak is part of why we let the Muggles push us aside in the old days, and it's because of the Lord Protector's strength that we were able to push back.

I guess He thought we needed a reminder.

And I've been thinking about all our CCF training, last year, and how we've sort of fallen off over the winter. So I'm starting again. Daphne, if you or anyone else wants to join, we're starting with conditioning exercises again this Sunday. Parvati and I will also lead yoga if anyone's interested.

It was snitch of you to have the bunch of us over yesterday. Thank Mr Rosier again, will you?

I do wish the Hogwarts crew had been able to come as well. You would have liked the game we played, Malfoy especially, I think. Hooper brought it. It's called Illusionary. Have you heard of it? Well, you divide into teams and there's a stack of cards with words on, like 'muggle camp' and 'transfiguration' and 'London' and 'snake' and all sorts of things. And there are some props you can use, but you don't have to use them if you don't want to do. Well, each person on your team takes it in turns being the one to get the others to guess what your word is. But you have to make an illusion that illustrates your word to get them to guess, and you can't talk, of course. It was great fun. Thomas was the best at sketching the illusions in the air, of course, but Page was really good at making the props into whatever he wanted.

Well, anyway, then Thomas wanted to go skating, so we did that before tea, which was really not tea at all, but chocolate! But the game had been so much fun that we kept casting spells out on Mr Rosier's duck pond. Oh, and Hooper taught us this completely nift charm he knew, to make illusions and shapes and such out of his breath when it fogged up in the air. He must have pracised forever to be able to do things like that unicorn he made for Parvati. We all tried, but it's difficult to make the shapes quickly enough. I think Lav was getting the hang of it, though!

I think Page really enjoyed getting to speak with Mr Rosier in the library while we were off touring the house again. I know I've been before but we've still not seen the whole place! It just keeps going. I can't believe you said it's smaller than your family's main castle in Ireland, though, Finnigan. I dunno what I'd do with so many rooms! But I knew we'd lose Page in the library. It's quite my favourite room of Mr Rosier's, too. I know it's not quite as large as Hogwarts' library but then, Mr Rosier doesn't need multiple copies of things or quite so many books that no one ever wants to read, does he? It was really kind of him to loan Page that copy of Command of Thought, as well. I'm sure it'll be really helpful for his Dark Arts unit on Curses.

Mr Rosier was right about getting to know some of the others better. I never knew Robins was so witty! Or that Cuthbert and Page would bore us all with broom care as Quidditch strategy, ha-ha! It was loads of fun and now it won't seem like so long before we're all on the train back to school.

Well.

I think I accidentally warned Xi Chang when Preece was about to hex him. And I definitely hexed Page - he was just sitting in the common room last night after supper, and I came in with my wand drawn in case - but he got really cross and said Bones or Jones or someone had already hexed him (and so did some other people I think, it was hard to understand him because he got really shrill).

I managed to come up on Vaisey (my first target) on the way back from the party Friday - but then I couldn't get at my next target until this morning. But when I followed the person to cast my hex, I heard someone say the charm behind me! And I thought I was surely going to have blue ears. But I turned round and hexed the person behind me, anyway. And it was Marvolo!

I was so embarrassed I went straight back to the common room after that. But then - Lav, Parvati, you'll never guess! - Xi Chang came over and thanked me for squeaking when I saw Preece leveling his wand at him. I guess the Weasley twins caught him later, anyway, but he said that at least he knew who his allies were. I'm not sure what that meant

I'm not sure who's left still playing. But I still have the same person on my parchment.

I would have thought that someone who'd melt someone else's cauldron and then not even admit it for days would've been disqualified to win the potions exam. But I suppose that's too much to expect as he's a Slytherin.

So I only came in second. I'll do much better next time.

I'm at Pansy's music party but it's hard to enjoy it knowing Ravenclaw didn't get those points. At least no one's allowed to hex each other here. That's something.

Points

Today in Transfiguration I was sure Professor Carrow was going to say something horrible when I said that relative size was one of Gamp's Exceptions, when obviously it's not.

But when I changed my answer he just gave me five points. Not that I'm complaining, but I've no idea why he would do that. (Maybe it's because I decided to play the AK game?)

Linus and I went down to the kitchens last night, while we were waiting to go to Astronomy, and we hexed all the house-elve's ears. They didn't mind, and they even offered us some biscuits to take back to the Common Room with us.

So I reckon we're pretty well practised on the hex, anyway.

And I'm so excited to find out what our Potions marks are! I'm sure I did ever so well.

I think I might want to be a Potioneer. Even if Mum would rather I take on her business. Maybe Sanji will do that - he quite likes the colours and im embroy embroidering on the fabrics.

Mondays

Why are Mondays so busy?

I know we've just come back from holiday and ought to be well-rested, but for some reason I'm ever so much more tired than usual. (It doesn't help when Professor Binns is drowning droning on about centaurs. Parvati may be horse-mad but I'm not!)

Still, Herbology was fun and kept me awake. And there's Transfiguration after lunch. Have to pay attention there! But by the time we get to Charms I'm sure I shall need a lie-down. It's so silly, but it's true.

Why is it so hard to come back from a holiday?

Also, it sounds as if several people are playing Perks's silly asa assasin AK game, but I don't know if I want to or not. It sounds like a dreadful bore to always be looking over one's shoulder, and I quite don't like the idea of my ears turning blue, even for an hour.

But Linus wants to play and Belinda said she would if I do, and even Daphne mentioned it on the train, so it doesn't seem as if they care that Perks it matters whether it's silly or not.

I just haven't decided. Lav, what do you think?

Even though it means we have to stay up so late.

Well, partly I love it because we get to stay up so late, but then I'm ever so tired next morning and I'm late for breakfast.

Linus says he'd rather play that ak thing but now hes all of a mind to practis chess alot and see if it makes him play the other one better. He called it an umpiracle test.

I'm not sure what that is but I think it means he'll see if chess improoves his life like Malfoy's dad's book says it will.

So I hope we're still doing the chess turney, yeah? Becuse we here in Ravenclaw are getting ready for it.

Everyone's still talking about Parkinson and her mum. I think that's one thing about these jornals that's not so good. I mean, if something happened to our mum and dad, or our brothers, I wouldn't want it all over school, I'd want it privat.

I think Professor Carrow's right and it's alot of bother about something really boring. I don't understand the other stuff he said tho

But anyway, Astronomy is wizard. We saw Mars and loads of constillations. Professor Sinistra sais its always been good vewing from Hogwarts, but now its even better becuse theres no Muggle lite pil polusion.
