Well, I think that went really well, don't you?

Except, why did Remy Jugson rush out after he'd just been saying how excited he was about the whole business?

Odd, wasn't it?

Well, anyway, at least we've got a rough idea of who's interested in doing what.

When do you think your Mr Krumgold will come up to look over the music selections? Only because we ought to have Lines put together the background information on the numbers before then.

Has anyone in Slytherin heard more about Ireland? I think things are settling down but Seamus is still walking on dragon eggshells.

Really, really excellent job getting 'Hey, Hey Merlin' sold to a real band. And they're so GOOD!

(Do you know any of them? The guitarist is quite fit, isn't he?)

My goodness, this probably means you're going to be on the wireless all the time, now, doesn't it? Are you writing anything else for them?

It's so exciting!

interesting party. Thanks for inviting us. I was a little surprised when so many grown-ups showed up, though. Especially Mrs Lestrange I guess that's sort of like Harry's party was, too.

The band was really good, anyway. I love that it's possible to dance kathak to 'Our Borders Are Strong' - it was fun teaching everyone some of the moves.

I hope you like the gloves. Mum says they're good for touring flights, they'll keep your hands warm if you're in the air a long time. Parvati put in the owl treats and the book on owl care because we know you just got an owl too. Anyway, I hope they'll be useful.

We'd been staying with Lavender for a few days, but we went home after the party. Haruman's taking us for our books on Wednesday, though, and Lav will come too so we'll see her again. Plus Sandoval invited me over on Thursday to see the photos from her party. So I think the week will go pretty quickly. And then only a couple more weeks left before school starts. I certainly hope this year will be quieter than last!

a waste last night. Everyone wanted to talk about what Professor Binns had said during the Slytherin lesson, and about the Chamber, and no one really wanted to talk about the Picts and Saxons and their tributes to wizards at all.

But then it seemed like because Professor Binns told the Slytherins all that stuff in their lesson, he really didn't want to go through it all again with us, even though Linus tried a couple of times to ask some of the questions from the club last night, like who might be descended from Slytherin, and that.

I tried asking Davies about it, since he was in the Corner this afternoon, but he said he's tired of it and that if we all just let it drop, nothing more will come of the whole business. Lana Sandoval says that too, but of course people really are curious, aren't they?

Mum sent an owl this morning saying that Haruman had to work all night last night because people were setting off backrackets all through the half-blood quarters in London and people kept coming to St Mungo's with burns they couldn't heal by themselves.

Ooh, has anyone else heard the new Solstice Night song yet? We played it in the dormitory last night and I lent it to Parvati for her and Lavender to play tonight. It's wiz-nift.

Professor Lockhart said to me today that he wished he had known yesterday was my birthday! Thats just what he said too: 'I wish I had known.' And he said I'm about the cleverest witch in our year! And he wished me happy 'belated' birthday in front of the whole class! I thought I'd die I was so embarrassed!!

But it was a really nift birthday, anyway. Mum and Dad sent shoes and a new Solstice Night album and one by Ranjeet Mukerjhee. And we got earrings and a little tiny phial of perfume each, and real henna! and of course birthday cakes. And Haruman charmed some ice cream so it would stay frozen until we ate it. Chocolate for me and strawberry for Parvati.

It was brill I love birthdays.

Oh and Lav? I LOVE IT!!! Thanks again - it's utterly perfect.
