Parkinson, is it true that Greengrass sent those roses she got back to whomever sent them? Do you know why?
Only we reckoned they came from Zabini, you know, as a thank-you or whatever for that party she threw for him. Except Dames saw her returning them, so that doesn't make any sense if it was Zabini.
I'd ask her herself but I figure she's probably asleep. And I know you're up late a lot of nights.

Date: 2011-05-01 04:38 am (UTC)See, Daphne was worried about what she'd heard about how her performance in the play was received by Auror Crouch, because apparently he didn't like it. Even though he didn't see the play at all. So she wrote him to apologise, and say she didn't mean any disrespect.
So the flowers were actually from him, right? For the play.
Only they were red. I'd bet he had an assistant order them for him who didn't know any better, but she didn't want anything to seem improper, or give the wrong impression to Blaise, so she sent them back. At least that's why I think she sent them back.
But that's who they are from.

Date: 2011-05-01 04:52 am (UTC)At least, I can't imagine Auror Crouch not knowing what it means. Or his assistant - I mean, his assistant's Ned Pennifold. He's a former Head Boy! He'd be sure to know what red means.
Besides, you know Auror Crouch has a recent tragedy, right? It was all written up in Posh last month. He was all set to get engaged, right, to this really beautiful, successful witch - I mean, you should see some of the photos, they were such a handsome couple! - and the Lord Protector told them they didn't have His permission to marry. No one's sure why, except that He apparently told Auror Crouch that He wanted him free to keep on serving in MLE and not to bother with marriage too soon.
But that could have been wrong. Maybe He told Mr Crouch to find someone younger, you know? And the papers just didn't want to say because it would be too insulting to him and to his lady-love. Um. Drumgoole, that was her name. Maebh. The one he used to write PMs to all the time? Well, I mean, I don't know if you look at his journal much. He's nearly always sending PMs to someone. But she's the one he wanted to marry. So maybe...maybe he's getting over his Disappointment (Lav would say it has to have the capital D!) by making an overture to Greengrass?

And I think he'd probably be well annoyed if people started spreading those kind of rumours.
